Every challenge that we face is the opportunity to become more than we were before
Chaddock Legacy Society
It's gratifying to know that we can help children during our lifetime through Chaddock's work. It is even more meaningful to discover new ways to extend that support beyond our lifetime through planned giving. By thinking ahead and taking some simple steps, any of us can create a powerful, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to change children's lives.

Grandma's Closet
Grandma's Closet at Chaddock is dedicated to the daily personal needs of our clients. Chaddock serves over 400 children daily in our Residential, Foster Care and School programs. We supply basic necessities such as hygiene supplies and clothing, as well as items for comfort such as pillows, blankets, stuffed animals, toys, and books. Our children access Grandma's Closet with the assistance of staff to ensure their needs are met. As the number of clients continues to grow, it is imperative that we maintain an adequate supply of Grandma's Closet items. For more information, contact Shawna Bunnell, Outreach & Church Relations Manager at 217.222.0034 ext 330 or email sbunnell@chaddock.org.

Special Opportunities
Chaddock spends the vast majority of our charitable dollars and fees for service on direct care for our children. However, we also have special ongoing needs that aren't met by our general daily budget. Here are just a few of these special "capital" items which help us provide better service to the children and families in our care. For more information, contact Jeff VanCamp, Executive Director at 217.222.0034 ext 328 or email jvancamp@chaddock.org.
Cottages
The environment we are able to provide our children can have a positive impact on their progress. Each of our cottages has various needs for upgrades/remodeling. These range in estimated price from $500 to $5000. Needs include:
- Window replacement
- Furniture replacement
- Carpet/Flooring replacement
Agricultural Partnership
Our Ag Partnership is a network of grain producers and elevators throughout Illinois who support Chaddock’s mission. Producers donate grain to Chaddock at participating elevators. Chaddock sells the grain at current market prices and the funds are applied to the Chaddock’s Visitation fund.
Administrative
Staff are working with older equipment, especially computers. Certain operating systems Chaddock uses are no longer supported by their manufacturers any more. Replacing these with CPU's or laptops will improve efficiency. At current count, we need to replace 25 desktop computers. In addition, we need to increase our digital storage and other technology capacities in order to meet the growing demand for our services.
Real Stories. Real Donors.
"Not having children of our own,
yet being very involved in our family's children, we recognize the children Chaddock serves often do not have loved ones who can provide more than just the necessities. Chaddock giving affords us an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people who in turn may one day do the same."
"The single best learning experience of my career
was teaching at Chaddock for six years. It was plenty of hard work, but our teaching staff was great. We were deeply rewarded by seeing students discover and apply their talents and work within their potential."
"There will always be children who need
extra help as long as there are parents who are not perfect. Chaddock helps many of these children. Helping Chaddock help children in need helps our world."
"I have been blessed in so many ways.
This is one way I can give back to those who have not been as fortunate."
