December 4th - A young man, a big heart, a youtube video and hot cocoa! Today's Feel Good Friday story comes from Northern Illinois. Markus hosted a Hot Cocoa Drive and raised over $1400 for our kids! He's currently doing some shopping and fulfilling Christmas wishes for several of our kids! Thank you Markus for your generosity and for inspiring others to join in the season of giving! Markus's gifts will be making their way to campus soon, scroll on down for the delivery!
December 11th -
5 years ago a 15 year old boy was admitted into our Transitional Living program. The staff had their work cut out for them: after all, he was placed here for a reason! Over the years he literally grew up before our eyes, physically, intellectually, and emotionally. Eventually he was able to transfer into our Independent Living program. He acquired a good job at a local manufacturing facility, handled his finances correctly, and just this past week he had an appointment at a local bank….and became a proud homeowner! While it will be tough to ‘let him go’, we couldn’t be more proud of him and the man he has become.
December 18th - Today’s Feel Good Friday story is an exciting update (and visit) from Markus! Remember the story about the hot cocoa bar? We were blessed with a visit from Markus and his mother as they dropped off Christmas gifts for several of our kids, whose wish lists he personally fulfilled! His hot cocoa drive last month raised over $1400 for our kids! Thank you Markus for your generosity and for inspiring others during the season of giving. We know you are going to do big things! Merry Christmas!
December 25th - Thanks to everyone who makes Chaddock Christmases special. Your generosity inspires year after year. This message came to us last week from Chaddock teacher:
“I wanted to pass along something special with you this Christmas season. Last year, Chaddock provided Christmas for one of the families of a current student of mine. This year, the parent contacted me wanting me to provide her with a list of items that each of my students would like for Christmas. What an awesome and thoughtful gesture! My kiddos were so excited to see their gifts from their “Secret Santa”. This mother could not express her gratitude enough for Chaddock’s efforts last year and how special it made her family’s Christmas. She wanted other children to experience that very special moment too.”
