When Andrei was 8 years old, he and his family arrived at Chaddock to begin his healing journey.
At that time, Andrei was the youngest child to enter our Developmental Trauma and Attachment Residential Program. He recalls struggling with “behavioral and attitude issues,” but from day one, Chaddock staff stood by Andrei and his family, guiding them through the process of healing and helping him overcome attachment-related difficulties.
“The staff were super welcoming from the moment I got here,” Andrei shared. “They got to know me, they interacted with me, they spent a lot of time with me, and did everything to make sure that I got the care that I needed when I needed it.”
For two years, Andrei and his family worked closely with Chaddock’s team, participating in attachment-based interventions, therapies, and family coaching. Together, they rebuilt his ability to form trusting relationships.
“Even though life wasn’t super easy after Chaddock, and it still had its challenges, I was able to take what I learned and find help from other people in my new environments,” Andrei reflected.
After graduating from the residential program, Andrei returned to his hometown. He went on to graduate from high school, then college, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on marketing. Today, Andrei serves as a marketing director for a law firm.
“Chaddock was super integral in shaping who I am… If it wasn’t for Chaddock, I don’t know if I would be able to succeed in this world,” he said.
Recently, Andrei returned to campus to speak with the children currently enrolled in our programs. He reflected on his time at Chaddock and shared words of encouragement.
Andrei reminded the kids that they are valued: “Being here at Chaddock is a step to overcome those challenges and struggles,” he told them. “During your time here, you are just as valuable as you’ve always been… You are in the right place to help make you a better person. Sometimes, it takes entering a new environment to overcome obstacles and challenges and to get a new perspective on what you’re going through.”
Andrei continued his message, saying, “You matter. You are not the only one going through this and that there is hope at the end of the journey to enter into a better outcome.”
