Simon cottage

Simon Cottage serves our younger pre-teen population of boys and girls in our DTAP and Accelerated Residential programs. Residents at Simon attend Individual and Family Therapy on sight weekly. The kids enjoy being active with staff and playing in Simon’s outdoor playgrounds. Staff are attuned to the physical and emotional needs of the children. They work hard to make the children feel safe and comfortable. The kid’s days can include art projects led by staff, “Big Muscle Activities” to meet sensory needs, and hearing a story read by staff before bed time. Simon staff are trained in evidenced based interventions with programming geared toward engaging with our younger population. The Simon team is committed to empowering families for a hopeful future and bringing healing to children they serve.

Therapist

I've loved helping the children I work with build trust and feel safety in their relationships with adults. I have a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valpraraiso University and a Bachelor's in Psychology from Indiana University. When I'm not working with our kids and families, I enjoy running, learning new recipes for mac & cheese, and playing with my cat.
