Adventure Education
Chaddock's TREK Program gives students the opportunity to participate in a challenging, education adventure in a naturally scenic location.

By integrating the educational and therapeutic components of Chaddock's residential programs on location at sites around the country, TREK combines the treatment process with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for personal growth.

The goal of TREK is to provide students and staff with a safe, secure and supportive environment in which they can meet emotional, physical, mental, individual and group challenges. Those challenges may take the form of: caving, high-ropes course, backpacking, tenting, canoeing, team-building games and environmental impact activities.

Adventure Education and Reality Therapy approaches are inherent in TREK. These activities provide adolescents with opportunities for growth in self-esteem, self-confidence and teamwork, as well as a new environment for problem solving.

TREK participants are selected based on their need, capacity for success and ability to integrate the experience into their personal life and Chaddock program. Students may be chosen to participate in a 3 - 4 day "Adventure Trek", or an "Expedition Trek" which runs approximately 10 days.
