Chaddock is now on Facebook and Twitter!

"We adopted our son when he was three. Even though we knew he had been traumatized, we simply surrounded him with love and thought that would cure him. It didn't. Eventually he was placed in Chaddock's Developmental Trauma and Attachment Program (DTAP).

Within a few months, our child who had given up on school was now passing all of his classes. Chaddock is working with our son and our family, and we are confident the program has done nothing less than saved his life," - Parent

Parents
Being a parent isn’t easy, even in the best of circumstances! Sometimes parents need a little help with a job that can range from wonderful and inspiring to maddening, challenging, and extremely difficult. This page is designed especially for those special people called parents. It offers a little something extra just for you, whether or not you are the parent of a child at Chaddock.

Even though it is common to believe that the love of a parent should be able to conquer any problem, sometimes love alone is not enough. That is often the case when a child has encountered abuse or neglect or experienced other unresolved trauma in his or her early years of development. In that case, the love of a family may need the extra help of specialized treatment in order to heal and thrive.

For all parents, we offer a growing list of:

  • Recommended resources for parents in all stages and circumstances
  • Articles we have written or found to be helpful
  • Inspiration and encouragement

For those parents with a direct connection to one of Chaddock’s many programs, we offer access to:

  • News and scheduled events
  • Contact information
  • Ongoing online scrapbook about our activities here at Chaddock

If you have a child who is in our residential program, you'll have the opportunity through the Admissions Department to sign in to your own private, protected page where you can see the latest information about your child’s progress. If you are a Chaddock foster parent, please watch this page for news and information that is valuable to you.

Chaddock is here to make sure your child gets the right care, the needed treatment, and the guidance and assurance you as a family deserve. Your contact with us is completely confidential. We are highly committed to helping families find solutions to the challenges they are facing. Making the decision to seek support is the first step toward a brighter future for you and your child.
