Much of Chaddock's success has been guided by our strong:

Chaddock is on the cutting edge of residential treatment for children who have experienced severe abuse, neglect, or other trauma in their early years of development, and is nationally-respected for the excellent results demonstrated in our Developmental Trauma and Attachment Program (DTAP). Many of the children in this program are adopted by loving families, but the unresolved issues from their early childhood prevent them from forming loving, nurturing relationships.

However, three out of four children in this successful program, whose issues were so profound that they were unable to live in a home environment, are able to return home or go to a less restrictive environment (such as living on their own in an apartment) in an average of 18-24 months.

Chaddock’s residential program also includes traditional residential care for other emotional and/or behavioral issues, a group home and a transitional living program for those youth who are ready to learn the life skills needed to move into the community. Chaddock works diligently with the whole family from the first phone contact until the conclusion of follow up care after discharge to rebuild relationships and bring about healing for the profound pain and unresolved trauma experienced by these children.

Chaddock’s on-campus accredited school provides specialized education for residential students and also for many other students from the Quincy area. Chaddock School, challenges the students to stretch academically. Field trips, school dances, choir performances, end of semester celebrations and poetry slams enhance the learning environment and showcase the talent of our students.

In addition, Chaddock’s staff offers consultation and training to schools, parents, and other professionals across the nation and overseas.

Our foster care program is consistently rated as one of the top programs in the state of Illinois. The ultimate goal of our program is to provide a safe and loving home for children in need. Every effort is made to repair broken family units and return children to a secure and caring home with their birthparents. When this is not possible, we work to transition the children into permanent adoptive homes.
