The Knowledge Center at Chaddock recently hosted Brijin Gardner, LSCSW, LCSW, RPT/S, who presented an adolescent play therapy workshop titled GROUPS: Awesome Activities and Insights. Gardner has worked in the Edwardsville School District and Platte City School Districts for over eight years as a school social worker. During this time, she received several grants from organizations for her excellent work in implementing play therapy into the schools setting.

Brijin has a fresh and creative approach for using play therapy and Theraplay® with both individual and group work in the schools. Brijin received her Registered Play Therapist status in 2005 and is also currently pursuing her certification in Theraplay®. She recently presented at the 2007/2009 International Theraplay conferences in Chicago, IL, at the 2007 APT Annual Conference in Hollywood, CA. and will be presenting at the 2009 APT Conference in Atlanta, GA.

During GROUPS: Awesome Activities and Insights, unique and interactive play therapy techniques for groups of various ages, stages and types were experienced. Through the training, Chaddock staff increased clinical confidence for facilitating groups while gaining insight, skill set, preparation and motivation.
